Dorethea Dee Hartle, 87, of Chicora, and lifelong resident of Rimersburg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1936, in Callensburg and was the daughter of George and Dee (Buzard) Kilgore.

She married Robert “Levi” Hartle Sr. on Sept. 23, 1954, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2003.

Dorethea worked at the former Davis Cookie Company in Rimersburg for 22 years.

She was a member of Baker Street Church of God in Rimersburg.

In her spare time, she enjoyed the senior center, attending church, doing word searches, putting together puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Dorethea is survived by a daughter, Mim Terwint and Tom Muscatello of Chicora; six grandchildren, Melissa (Brandon) Gathers, Kristy Hedrick, Keisha Hartle, Brandon (Miranda) Terwint, Jessalee Hartle and Ashley Terwint (Landon); 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Waldrop and her husband, Glen, of Saxonburg, and Bonnie Altman and her husband, Ray, of North Washington; two brothers, Richard Kilgore and his wife, Ellen, of Sligo and George Kilgore Jr. and his wife, Helen, of Butler. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bob” Hartle Jr.; and two sisters, Carol Carmichael and Betty Bowser.

HARTLE — The family of Dorethea Dee Hartle, who died Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at VARNER FUNERAL HOME, 583 Main St., Rimersburg. A funeral service will be held the same day at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Gary Guntrum officiating.

Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Cancer Society, 150 Doctors Lane, Suite 1, Clarion, PA 16214.
