CORAOPOLIS — Three Center Township figure skaters earned medals Saturday at the Shamrock Skate held at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center.

Danielle DePolo, 12, claimed two silver medals, along with a bronze during the competition. She is a seventh-grader at Butler Junior High School.

Christian DePolo, 8, a second-grader at Center Township Elementary School, took a gold, silver and bronze medal. He won the gold medal while skating to the music “Thriller” by Michael Jackson.

Stefani Hartman, 7, a first-grader at Center Township Elementary School, nabbed two medals — a silver and bronze — during the competition. The bronze medal was won while performing with Christian DePolo in a pair-skating event.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Torry Rollins has been named Associate Athletic Director at Slippery Rock University.Rollins is a former Assistant Athletic Director for Business Affairs at Southeast Missouri State. He managed an $8 million athletic budget for a program that included 15 NCAA Division I sports.A 1992 Edinboro graduate and former basketball player and graduate assistant coach there, Rollins will begin working at The Rock April 2.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Raleigh Jackson, a former assistant coach at The Citadel, has been hired as linebackers coach at Slippery Rock University.He served two years as tight ends coach at The Citadel. Jackson was a four-year letterman as a linebacker there, playing in 42 of a possible 44 games.Jackson replaces Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay, who resigned after a year at SRU to accept a similar position at Division I Elon College last month.
