Mae E. Kriebel

Mae E. Kriebel, 89, of Dutch Hill, Parker, passed away Monday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 6, 1921, to the late Oliver and Gertrude Knight Lewis.

She was employed by the former Gallagher's Market near Callensburg for a number of years.

Mae was a long devoted, Christian member of the Church of God, first at Ellwood City, then Dutch Hill, and in recent years at the Callensburg Church of God. Over her lifetime, she served on many church boards, taught Sunday school and many vacation Bible schools. She was active in various missionary works of the churches.

Surviving are her husband, Byron G. “Bang” Kriebel, who she married Feb. 5, 1960; two daughters, Lallie (Ronald) Sheeler of Ellwood City and Carol (Wayne) Szoke of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Carolyn (David) Kelm of Warren, Ohio; one stepson, Blair (Saundra) Kriebel of Foxburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sally (Sheldon) LeViere of Ellwood City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lionel Mehaffay, who passed in 1957. She also was preceded by a brother, Clyde Lewis; and one sister and a brother in youthful years.

<B>KRIEBEL</B> — Friends of Mae E. Kriebel, who died Monday, March 28, 2011, may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Callensburg Church of God where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Rapp officiating.
