It was one of those nights for the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team.

Jamar Scales scored 14 points, but The Rock couldn't take advantage of a poor shooting night by Indiana (Pa.) University because of a poor shooting night of its own in a 47-44 loss Wednesday.

SRU (5-19 overall, 2-7 in the PSAC West) shot 39 percent from the floor. IUP (6-17, 3-6) shot 35 percent.

The Rock trailed 28-23 at halftime.

Glenn Reepmeyer had 11 rebounds for SRU.

Women's basketballAmanda Nero scored 15 points and Chere' Marshall added 13, but SRU fell to Indiana (Pa.) University 94-65 Wednesday night.The Rock (9-14, 3-6) trailed 49-29 at halftime.IUP (18-6, 8-1) shot 56.3 percent from the floor in the first half and 55.4 in the contest.SRU shot 40 percent from the field.
