Larry L. Wiegand, 80, of Saxonburg, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 8, 1944, in Butler, he was the son of George Wiegand and Thelma Bachman Wiegand.

Larry worked as an IT Specialist for Gulf Research, Riggs National Bank and Chevron from where he retired. Larry was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966. He was a life member of the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376 and the Sarver Vets, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. He enjoyed hunting camp, watching NASCAR and the Steelers, and attending gun bashes, where he was always very lucky. He proudly represented the VFW Post in many holiday parades and services over the years.

Surviving are two daughters, Connie (Donald) Monteleone of Cabot and Laura (John) Freehling of Butler; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Julianne, Josh and Leah; two great-grandsons, Wesley and Everett; and his sister, Deborah (Roger) Sell of Cabot.

He is preceded in death by parents; his wife, Carol Ann Wiegand, just a few short weeks ago; his brother, Jack Wiegand; and his dog, Lucky.

WIEGAND — Friends of Larry L. Wiegand, who died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Seth McClymonds officiating.

Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery with military honors performed by the Saxonburg American Legion and Saxonburg VFW.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or any veterans organization.
