Historical drama premiering at Freeport festival
A new historical drama will premiere at the Freeport Theatre Festival this weekend.
“The General and Mark Twain,” written and directed by Mike Firek, will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Friday, Aug. 9, through Aug. 25, at the at the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road in Leechburg, near Freeport. Curtain is at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors and military, and $10 for students.
The play tells the story of the perseverance and friendship between Gen. Ulysses Grant and Mark Twain during a pivotal moment in American history.
The theater offers free parking, air conditioning and handicap accessibility.
