BUTLER TWP — Pageants to determine who will compete in the 2014 Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania Outstanding Teen competitions will start at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Succop Theater on the campus of Butler County Community College, 107 College Drive.

The event features 20 candidates competing for four crowns.

Contestants will be judged on interviews, talent, stage questions and evening wear. Miss Outstanding Teen contestants will model fitness wear. Miss Pennsylvania contestants will model swimsuits.

Pageant directors are Lucy Mudrick and Judy Hughes.

Performing the duties of master of ceremonies will be past winners Caroline Collins, Kaitlynne Kline, Clare Stevenson, Erica Williams and BreeOnna Springer. Annie Rosellini, 2013 Miss Pennsylvania, will be the special guest.

There will be performances from 2013 Little Miss Butler County/America Brenna Springer and 2013 Junior Miss Butler County/America Ashley Kennedy.

Winners will receive scholarships and will advance to their respective pageants in Pittsburgh.

Becca Bly, 19, is the daughter of Amy and Jeffrey Bly of Chicora. She is a freshman at Westminster College in New Wilmington where she is majoring in music education. She will sing “Allerseelen.” Her platform is The Arts Are Important.Caitlyn Delien, 18, is the daughter of Lisa and Christopher Murano of Boyers. She is a freshman at Butler County Community College where she is a fine arts major. She will sing “What I Did for Love.” Her platform is Bullying.Sarah Elizabeth Herold, 17, is the daughter of Beth and John Herold of Butler. She is a senior at Butler Senior High School. She will sing “How Could I Ever Know.” Her platform is Keep It Straight — Scoliosis Awareness.Caroline Holt, 17, is the daughter of Nicole Lynn Caperell and Timothy Neven Holt of Butler. She is a senior at Butler Senior High School. She will perform a jazz/aero dance to “Tough Love.” Her platform is Elder Abuse.

Lexie Abplanalp, 18, is the daughter of Ruth and Raymond Abplanalp of Grove City. She is a freshman at California (Pa.) University where she is majoring in social work. She will perform a pointe dance to “The Double.” Her platform is Obesity Prevention.Alexis Morgan Albaugh, 19, is the daughter of Heidi Sue and Shawn Anthony Albaugh. She is a sophomore at Kaplan University where she is majoring in nursing. She will perform a tap dance. Her platform is The Wounded Warrior Project.Katie Alexander, 23, is the daughter of JoAnn and Dan Alexander of Burgettstown. She is a sixth-year pharmacy major at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She will perform a tap dance to “When You're Smiling.” Her platform is Multiple Sclerosis.Allyson Leah Bowser, 20,is the daughter of Sandra Lee and Thomas Edward Bowser of East Brady. A psychology major, she is a junior at Geneva College. She will sing “All I Ask of You.” Her platform is Building Self Esteem in Teenagers.Samantha Lambert, 20, is the daughter of Nancy Lambert of Pittsburgh. She is a sophomore at the Community College of Allegheny County where she is an industrial engineering major. She will perform a dance routine to “Rumor Has It.” Her platform is Heads Up: Concussion Awareness.Carly Cathlyn Koza, 18, is the daughter of Catherine Ann and Kim Joseph Koza of Beaver. She is a freshman at Duquesne University where she is majoring in biology and vocal performance. She will give an operatic vocal presentation of “Nessun Dorma.” Her platform is Use Your Voice! Stand Up Against Peer Pressure.Stephanie Kay Owens, 21, is the daughter of Risa Kay and Ronald Gary Owens of Pittsfield. She is a senior at Gannon University in Erie where she is majoring in sport and exercise science. She will play “Turkey in the Straw” on the violin. Her platform is Save the Arts in Education.Christy Rose Rybak, 19,is the daughter of Cathy and Greg Rybak of Oil City. She attends Clarion University where she is a sophomore majoring in speech pathology. She will sing “Think of Me.” Her platform is The Mystery of a Blank Expression.

Claudia Komondor, 16, is the daughter of Barbara and Michael Komondor of North Huntingdon. She is a 10th-grader at Norwin High School. She will perform a jazz dance to “Orange Colored Sky.” Her platform is Staying Alive 60 Minutes a Day.Hannah Elizabeth Piston, 17, is the daughter of Robert and Kathy Piston of Hermitage. An 11th-grader at Hickory High School, she will play an excerpt from the 5th Sonata by Naderman on the harp. Her platform is Concussion Awareness.Lauren Christine Sovisky, 16, is the daughter of Connie and Randall Sovisky of Cambridge Springs. The 11th-grader at Cambridge Springs High School will tap dance to “Halo/Walking on Sunshine.” Her platform is Green Teen.

Brianna Herr, 15, is the daughter of B.J. and Dan Herr of Butler. She is a ninth-grader at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. She will perform a jazz dance to “Willy Wonka.” Her platform is Dyslexia Awareness.Samantha McKain, 16, is the daughter of Janet Haller and Rick McKain of Butler. She is an 11th-grader at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. She will perform sign language to “We're in Heaven.” Her platform is Deaf Awareness.Mackenzie Taylor Mead, 13, is the daughter of Holly and Darrin Mead of Jefferson Township. The seventh-grader in the South Butler County School District will sing “Don't Rain on My Parade.” Her platform is Asperger's syndrome.Marlisa Miller, 13, is the daughter Mindy Miller of Penn Township. The eighth-grader at Knoch Middle School will perform a musical theater dance to “If My Friends Could See Me Now.” Her platform is A Healthy Heart and a Healthy Lifestyle.Amber Rivers, 14, is the daughter of Tricia and Thomas Rivers of Butler. She is an eighth-grader at Butler Junior High School. She will perform a jazz dance to “You Can't Stop the Beat.” Her platform is Dyslexia: The Most Recognized Reading Disorder.
