Casey

Kathy E. Casey, 66, of New Kensington, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024.

She was born in Butler on July 26, 1958, to the late Ernest D. and Blanche E. (Anderson) Sell and had lived in New Kensington for the past 29 years.

She worked as a data processing manager for 25 years and later became a nurse for 15 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sarver. Mrs. Casey loved flower and vegetable gardening, dining out with her husband, sewing, and her fur baby, Tudee.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, William T. Casey; her brother-in-law, John Emery of North Ridgeville, Ohio; her niece and nephew, Rachel Emery and Jared Emery, also of North Ridgeville; and a lengthy list of close cherished friends.

Kathy and Bill would like to give a special recognition of their appreciation to the cancer center and chemo infusion lab at Magee-Womens Hospital — from the front desk staff, all the medical assistants, doctors and the nurses administering her treatments. It was a combined effort in making every appointment as enjoyable as it could possibly “bee.”

CASEY — Friends of Kathy E. Casey, who died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., Lower Burrell, Pa. The Rev. Greg Spencer, of Trinity Tower United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Additionally, Kathy and Bill send their heartfelt gratitude to the ladies of her biweekly online support group sponsored by “Faith and Gratitude.org.” It was the never-ending support of these ladies who changed Kathy’s outlook through her four-year battle.
