Richard Hughes

Richard Hughes, 72, of Karns City, passed away at his residence late Sunday evening, July 28, 2024.

Born in Grove City on Oct. 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Basil and Dolores Pavlek Hughes. Richard was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed working on vehicles. Richard was self-employed for 30 years as the owner-operator at Hughes Autobody.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rankin Hughes, whom he married on Oct. 26, 1968; one daughter, Amy (Jim) Grossman of Boyers; daughter-in-law, Keri Hughes of Karns City; two grandchildren, Kirsten Grossman (Matthew) Ross and Megan Grossman, two great-grandchildren, Hudson Tebay and Zelda Ross; three brothers, Basil “Bucky” Hughes of Eau Claire, Tim (Cheryl) Hughes of Eau Claire and Dave (Martha) Huges of Hilliards; and one sister, Elizabeth Hughes of Harrisville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Troy Hughes.

HUGHES — Friends of Richard Hughes, who died Sunday, July 28, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at the Eau Claire Cemetery.
