Teen hurt in leap from window
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — A Grove City teenager was injured after he jumped out of a third-story window at an apartment complex during a suspected drug deal gone wrong Tuesday morning, authorities said.
State police are investigating, but they released few details Thursday. The crime unit is handling the investigation.
Patrol troopers were called around 5:45 a.m. to University Village at Slippery Rock, an off-campus apartment complex in Slippery Rock Township not affiliated with Slippery Rock University.
“The victim related he was assaulted and had money stolen from him during a drug transaction,” according to a police report, “leading him to jump from a third-story window.”
The teen suffered possible broken legs, said police, who did not release his name.
He was taken to Grove City Medical Center before being transferred to an unspecified Pittsburgh hospital. Authorities said he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators would not say if they have any suspects, but arrests were not considered imminent, they noted.
Police said they are conducting interviews and declined to discuss their findings. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
