BC3, Butler vo-tech students garner health care awards
The Butler County Health Care Consortium has named two Butler County Community College students and a Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School student as 2021 Health Care Students of the Year.
BC3 nursing students Marcie Delaney of Zelienople; Olivia Girdwood of Portersville; and vo-tech student Emma Starr were named the award winners during the consortium’s virtual health care worker recognition event.
Delaney and Girdwood are the fourth BC3 students among seven Health Care Students of the Year in the past three years. Starr, who is in the health assistant program, is the third vo-tech students to win the award.
Delaney and Girdwood follow BC3 recipients Philip Green in 2020 and Marissa Marsh in 2019. Green and Marsh earned bachelor’s degrees at Clarion and Indiana universities of Pennsylvania, respectively, before graduating from BC3’s career program in Nursing, R.N.
