George W. Roenpage, 80, of Pine Township, Mercer County, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He had been ill since June.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Oct. 19, 1926.

Mr. Roenpage retired in 1988 from Cooper Energy Services after 40 years as a molder.

He was a Protestant.

During World War II, he served in the Navy as a baker. He enjoyed baking throughout his life and also enjoyed canning, country and religious music, hunting, fishing and especially helping others.

Surviving are his wife, Annabell M. Blom Roenpage, whom he married March 10, 1994; a daughter, Winnie Sliger of Idamay, W.Va.; four step- children, Judy Wheeler of Franklin, Carol A. Ross and her husband, Richard, of New Castle, Tina Gill and her husband, Dwight, of Greenville and Jenny Rape of Harrisville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and a niece.

He was preceded in death by a stepson and two infant granddaughters.

<B>ROENPAGE </B>— Friends of George W. Roenpage, who died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Cunningham funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Schemerhorn, a retired Church of the Nazarene pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
