Ford

Edward F. Ford, 68, of Heather Drive, Butler, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Saturday in the Visiting Nurses Association Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler, he was the son of the late Edward Ford and Anna Mae Reiber Ford.

Ed graduated from Butler High School in 1960 and attended the University of Alabama.

Mr. Ford retired from Butler Armco, where he was a manager in the caster department. Following his retirement, he worked as a consultant for LWB Refractories.

He was a charter member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer.

Ed enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading, traveling and exploring Civil War battlefields. He also loved the game of baseball.

Above all, Ed was a family man and enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Ford is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Greenway. They were married Nov. 15, 1963; two sons, Edward Ford and his wife, Karen, of Slippery Rock and Douglas Ford and his wife, Mary, of Butler; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sarah of Slippery Rock and Jefferson and Jill of Butler; one sister, Mrs. Leibert (Joyce) Mustello of Butler and Lakeland, Fla.; and 11 nieces and nephews.

<B>FORD</B> — Friends and family of Edward F. Ford, who died Saturday, July 24, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home with the Rev. J. David Panther, of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
