SHIPPENVILLE — Tyler Armagost of Moniteau and Scott Booth of Union are among the six players selected to the D9Sports.com Preseason Boys All-District Basketball Team.

Armagost, a senior, averaged 15.9 points, 11.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists last season. He is the leading active scorer in District 9 with 765 career points and is looking to become the sixth player in school history to score 1,000 points.

Booth a junior, averaged 19 points per game last year. The nephew of Union coach Karen Davis, he has 627 career points and could make a run at Kyle Hilliard's school record of 1,299 career points before he is through.

Seniors Mark Shannon of Brockway, Matt Shiner of Clearfield, Nate Higgins of Elk County Catholic and Seth Streich of Johnsonburg round out the team.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University women's basketball team set a program record for points in a single game in a 111-39 win over Salem International (W.Va.) Thursday at Morrow Field House.The previous high came in a 109-69 win over Indiana (Pa.) during the 1982-83 season.Nikki Presto led The Rock with 21 points Thursday while Grove City High graduate Julie Molloy had a career-high eight assists.
