Karns City grad dies in car accident
BRADYS BEND TWP, Armstrong County — State police are continuing to investigate last week's head-on crash that killed a Karns City High School graduate.
Steven M.K. Bellas 21, of Bradys Bend died Thursday at a Pittsburgh hospital of injuries suffered in the Nov. 22 wreck on Route 68 near Seybertown Road in Bradys Bend Township.
Police said the crash happened about 12:30 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle driven by Heather King, 42, of East Brady crossed into the opposing lane and collided with Bellas' vehicle that was traveling west.
Bellas, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian, where he was pronounced dead Thursday.
Bellas was a 2015 graduate of Karns City High School and a 2017 graduate of Pittsburgh Technical Institute with a degree in criminology. He recently began a career with Penn United Technologies in Jefferson Township.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services in East Brady.
