JACKSON TWP — A truck struck an unidentified man on I-79 early Thursday morning, Butler State Police Trooper David Wellington said.

The truck was driving North just south of Zelionople when the accident occurred.

The hit caused massive injuries, Wellington said, including numerous lacerations and bilateral fractures to both the man's femurs.

It's unclear what the man was doing on the interstate and police are still investigating. The truck driver could be seen on the shoulder of the two lane interstate and declined to comment.
