Continuance granted for Muddy Creek murder suspect
SLIPPERY ROCK — A continuance was granted Wednesday for a man accused of murdering his friend last month in Muddy Creek Township.
Paris E. Carter, 22, of Downingtown, was brought by the Butler County Sheriff’s Department to district court for his preliminary hearing before District Judge William O’Donnell.
Carter is charged with the murder of David Hines, 38, of New Castle.
Carter arrived without an attorney and asked for a continuance in order to apply for a public defender. O’Donnell agreed to the continuance.
