Leonard Lamka
Leonard “Lenny” Lamka, 81, of Frostproof, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
He was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 7, 1942, to the late Boleusla and Kathryn (Wojciechowski) Lamka.
Lenny honorably served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and received a Purple Heart as a Vietnam veteran. He was employed at Marmon Keystone in East Butler from 1969 until he retired.
Lenny was known for being a loving husband and father, as well as being a kind and generous friend. He had a great sense of humor, especially when wearing statement T-shirts. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and going to bowling tournaments with his friends. Lenny helped coach youth bowling and Highfield Baseball when his son was involved. Most recently, he enjoyed being retired, relaxing and watching TV. Lenny was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 69 in Avon Park, Fla.
Lenny was the beloved husband of Darlene (Warren) Lamka since their marriage on Dec. 14, 1968, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church; father of Kevin (Kristen) Lamka; and grandfather of Alexis Collins.
LAMKA — Family and friends of Leonard “Lenny” Lamka, who died Thursday, June 6, 2024, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Parish, St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. A graveside prayer with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Roman Catholic Cemetery.
