Andrew Dulya

Dulya

Andrew S. “Andy” Dulya, 56, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Born in Butler, he was a lifelong resident and a pillar of his community.

Our family was not expecting for Andy's life to be cut short so soon. We are all devastated by this huge loss, and he will be forever missed. He was born with a quiet and kind soul, a heart of gold, and an endless amount of “Dad jokes.”

Andy was born on Sept. 13, 1967, to Andrew S. Dulya Sr. and Kathleen (Young) Dulya. He graduated from Butler High School in 1985. Andy began working at Ervin Industries while also pursuing and graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University.

He continued his career to become the manager of engineering, a corporate-level position. This position found him traveling from Butler to Michigan frequently. He also traveled often to their plant in Germany, which he designed himself. In addition to his career, Andy was known locally as a talented handyman, always ready to lend a hand or share his skills. If anything was broken, Andy would know how to fix it.

Andy went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Tricia (Jamison) Dulya, on March 12, 1994. They have one son, Andrew R. Dulya, 24, of Butler. Within his family, Andy was a great supporter, mentor and coach. He coached his son’s baseball team for over 10 years. In addition, Andy loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling out West to do so. He liked “pushing” the deer for everyone else to be able to hunt successfully, earning him the nickname “Hound.” A caring and selfless man, Andy was deeply committed to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Tricia Dulya; son, Andrew R. Dulya; his father, Andrew S. Dulya Sr.; siblings, Dianne Fallecker (Jeff) of Prospect, and Jim Dulya (Lori) of Pittsburgh; and sisters-in-law, Michele (Mike) Gonda and Denise (Pete) Monday.

Andy was adored by his many nieces and nephews, Elijah, Ivy, Alydia, Noah, Megan, Nathan, Abbie, Jimmy, Jacob, Lauren, Joey, Luke, Logan, Jaden, ZoeyAnne and Jeremiah, who will miss his constant shenanigans.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy (Young) Dulya.
