Linda E. Lees, 78, of Adams Township, passed away on Thursday evening, July 11, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh on March 27, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ethel M. Kennedy Baumgartel.

Linda had worked at Mars National Bank for over 40 years, retiring as a loan officer.

She was a member of Mars United Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and deacon, sang in the choir and served on the A-Team.

She was an Adams Township supervisor for more than 30 years, overseeing the police department. Linda Lees Way off Route 228 recently was dedicated in her honor. She also served on the Mars Public Library board.

Linda had been involved in 4-H and showed cattle at the Farm Show and Butler Fair.

Surviving are her husband, John V. “Jack” Lees, whom she married on June 24, 1978; her brothers, Dr. Ira Baumgartel (Michele) and her twin, Larry Baumgartel, both of Mars; a niece, Dr. Jennifer Zangardi (Al) of Scranton; a nephew, Michael Baumgartel (Kelly) of Mars; great-nieces and great-nephews; her faithful canine companion, Doogie; two stepdaughters, Sherri Pfeifer (Dennis) of Butler and Cindy Mikalauskas (Carl) of Renfrew; her stepson, Rodger Lees (Nancy) of Evans City; six stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Baumgartel; and her sister, Carol Marie Baumgartel.

LEES — Friends of Linda E. Lees, who died Thursday, July 11, 2024, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, PA 16046, with the Rev. Brian Houser, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Pine Township.
