Jane Williams

Williams

Jane Marie Williams, 94, who had resided in West Sunbury and Butler for over 80 years, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at her home in LaQuinta, Calif., with her daughter, Dawne, by her side.

She was born April 15, 1930, in Butler, the daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Eshenbaugh) Waldenmyer.

Jane was married for 74 years to Charles “Bud” and they lived most of their lives in the West Sunbury area, where they raised their three daughters. Bud and Jane loved traveling with their daughters showing their Quarter Horses.

Jane had belonged to the West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, being one of the oldest living members. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. Jane volunteered at the Butler Memorial Hospital gift shop, the Cherry Tree, for many years. Working at the shop brought her great joy. She loved golfing in many leagues with all of her friends. Jane was a “Martha Stewart” of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. She loved sharing her gift by teaching floral design, craft classes and assisting in party planning and golf banquets. Jane was a seamstress who made clothes for her daughters: Christmas pajamas, doll clothes, Western wear and prom dresses. As one of the first wedding consultants for Bortmas, the Butler Florist, she sent many brides down the aisle.

Surviving are her daughters, Dawne (Larry) Blazevich of Indio, Calif. and Jody Williams of Cranberry Township; her granddaughter, Brooke (Kirk) Thorell, and great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Lorelai, of Pasadena, Calif.; three grandsons, Rex (Christie) Blazevich and great-grandchildren, Luke and Emery of Dallas, Texas, Thomas (Samantha) Carnevale and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Lucas of Plainfield, Ill. and Matthew Carnevale of Chicago, Ill.; and her son-in-law, Craig Carnevale of Naperville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles “Bud” Williams who passed away Jan. 21, 2022; her oldest daughter, Suzanne Carnevale; her brothers, William “Bill” and Dale Waldenmyer; and her sister, Ruth Griffith.
