Thomas Koczynski
Thomas A. Koczynski, 81, of Butler, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Louisville, Ky., on June 11, 1943, to the late Thomas A. Koczynski Sr. and Antennett E. (Wisenewski) Koczynski.
Thomas graduated from Central Regional High School in 1962. During high school he joined the Navy, where he was an aviation machinist and served our country over 30 years. He loved all things NASA, space exploration documentaries and keeping up with the military. Thomas enjoyed politics and could be found watching the news 24/7.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas A. (Gina) Koczynski III of Bakersfield, Calif. and John R. (Karin) Koczynski of Sweden; two daughters, Melissa A. (Brian) McGinnis of Butler and Penny Joe Koczynski of Fresno, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William J. Koczynski of New Jersey and Theodore A. Koczynski of New Zealand. Also surviving is his companion of twelve years, Sarah McGinnis.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne R. (Francis) Koczynski, whom he married on April 20, 1982, and who passed away on Sept. 15, 2012; one daughter, Shari E. Roddy; and one sister, Patricia Ann.
KOCZYNSKI — A visitation for Thomas A. Koczynski, who died Sunday, July 7, 2024, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Immediately following the visitation at noon, military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion posts. A blessing service will immediately follow at the funeral home, with Deacon Jim Shope officiating.
A burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
