Barb Green, 63, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, Edward J. Green Jr. in 2014 and her beloved mother, best friend and partner in mischief, Shirley “Shorty” Green, in July of 2023.

Barb embraced life, gathering with friends to laugh, enjoy music or dancing, and create vibrant ceramic and craft pieces. Her creations, like her spirit, were bursting with color. Taking after her father, Barb was confident in using tools and fixing things and loved football.

Generous with her heart, time and resources, Barb cofounded the Florida Nettles Island Veterans Auxiliary. As president, she raised funds, sent World War II veterans on D.C. Honor Flights, and knitted lap blankets for veterans in wheelchairs. She was also active in the American Legion Post 117 Auxiliary.

Barb is survived by her brothers, Ed Green (Judy) of Butler and Glen Green (partner Jenny) of Allegheny; her cherished nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a multitude of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barb’s name to either Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Service Trust or the American Cancer Society.
