Pelliccione

Martha E. Pelliccione, 80, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler, Aug. 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Floyd L. and Leota Chisholm Eury.

She was a member of the St. Michael Roman Catholic Church and the 55 & Alive of St. Michael's.

Martha was an active supporter of the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society and the Butler Breast Cancer and Women's Cancer Support Group over the past 10 years.

She previously worked as a telephone operator for the Peoples Telephone Co. in Butler until devoting herself to her husband and four children. In later years, she found great joy spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Martha will be remembered by family and friends for the joys she found in the simple pleasures of life — playing cards, chatting on the front porch, building puzzles, sharing her pumpkin rolls, spending time with family and friends, and going to the casino. Martha enjoyed tending her flower gardens, especially "Martha's Rose Garden." She was a founding member of the "Golden Girls," a group of lifelong friends.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent A. Pelliccione, to whom she was married for 57 years; two sons, Vincent F. Pelliccione and his wife, Nancy, of Rhode Island and David J. Pelliccione of Ephrata, Lancaster County; one daughter, Marian Linton and her husband, James R., of Gibsonia; two sisters, Mrs. Marian Hofmann of Templeton and Mrs. Hazel Workman of Dunmore, Lackawanna County; seven grandchildren, Michael Buck of Round Hill, Va., Elizabeth McKillop of Freeport, James Linton of Gibsonia, Abbigail Linton of Gibsonia, Anthony Pelliccione of Ephrata, Valerie Pelliccione of Ephrata and Angela Pelliccione of Ephrata; and one great-grandson, Logan Buck of Round Hill, Va.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna Marie Buck.

<B>PELLICCIONE</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Martha E. Pelliccione, who died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating.
