Ruth Dietrich
Ruth Laverna (Moyer) Dietrich, 98, of Portersville, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at her residence.
Born March 13, 1926, at her home in Lancaster Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry Edward and Estelle Mae Kniess Moyer.
Years ago, she worked as a supervisor at the former Bobbie Brooks in Butler, and later at the former Zayre store in its fabric department.
She attended Portersville CMA Church. In her early years, she was an active member in the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and later in the Middle Lancaster History Center.
Ruth enjoyed traveling, car rides, camping and fishing with her late husband. She loved to crochet, sew, quilt and play games, cards and dominoes.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn (George) Pyle of Butler, Margery (Tim) Bowser, Jane (Don) Kradel, Barb Eisler and Randy Dietrich, all of Portersville; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Raymond Dietrich, who passed away in 1992; one granddaughter; and six siblings.
DIETRICH — Private services for Ruth Laverna (Moyer) Dietrich, who died Wednesday, June 19, 2024, were held by the family with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
