CLINTON TWP — Synergy Health was joined Sept. 3 by representatives from the Community Development Corporation of Butler County, Massaro Construction and Butler County government to break ground on an expansion to its medical device sterilization facility in the Victory Road Business Park.

Synergy Health is a provider of specialized outsourced services to the health care and other related markets.

The company's Applied Sterilization Technologies division is expanding its Victory Road location. That facility uses electron beam technologies to sterilize surgical supplies.

It opened in October 2010.

In the next three years, Synergy Health plans to invest more than $4 million in the project, which will create at least 12 jobs and retain 17 existing positions, according to a news release.

The expansion is expected to be done in March.

The United Kingdom-based company has more than 100 facilities across the world.

PENN TWP — The Butler County Chamber of Commerce and PA CareerLink Butler County will host a workshop for employers on unemployment compensation Oct. 21 at Butler Country Club.The seminar will focus on the unemployment compensation appeal process.
