Mark Volkwein
Mark C. Volkwein, 72, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 12, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 18, 1951, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marion Redic Volkwein.
Mark was a proud professional union truck driver for Tesone Trucking in Gibsonia and most recently with Robert Neff Inc., based in Hebron, Ohio. He was a member of Teamsters union No. 249 and No. 341.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at St. Kilian Church, the Northside Sportsman’s Club and the Sewickley Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Killmeyer Volkwein, whom he married on May 14, 1977; his son, Mark W. Volkwein (Danielle English) of Slippery Rock; his granddaughter, Alaina Mae Volkwein; and two sisters, Kathy Lucas (Andrew) of Lancaster, Ohio, and Donna Lee Hibbs (Michael) of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his sister and her husband, Jean and James Sitar.
VOLKWEIN — Friends of Mark C. Volkwein, who died Wednesday, June 12, 2024, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A blessing service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Bober, pastor of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, officiating. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.
