Harkless

Karen Lee Johnston Harkless, 66, of Sarver, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home.

Born Sept. 17, 1957, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of Dwight Johnston and Della Greenert Johnston.

Karen had worked at Penn United. She loved people especially children and animals, having a heart of gold and the kindest person you ever knew. She was a good cook; she loved to bake and make candy.

Surviving are her husband, Millard Harkless, whom she married Sept. 20, 2007; her siblings, Barbara Johnston of Sarver, David (Helen) Johnston of Freeport and Teresa (Jeffery) Royer of Cadogan. Karen was a second mother to Jennifer (Roy) Dunlap, Misty Johnston, Patrick Tomanio, Brittiny Johnston, Heather Johnston and Rain Royer. She was stepmother to Dessann Harkless, Mileia Harkless and Clinton Harkless. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Dawson, Colton, Aiden, Laila, Nick, Natalie, Ray, Shahona, Jake, Saphia, Selena, Sabrina and Layton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

HARKLESS — Friends of Karen Lee Johnston Harkless, who died Friday, June 7, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday with services to follow at 4 p.m. at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.
