Ten Butler County athletes are among the 138 high school student-athletes being honored at the YMCA of Pittsburgh's 30th annual Scholar Athlete Banquet June 2 at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel.

More than 500 students were nominated. The median grade point average of the 138 selected is 3.93.

University of Pittsburgh basketball coach Jamie Dixon is being honored as YMCA's Person of the Year.

The local honorees include Butler's Missy Fogel (cheerleading), Jonathan Blose (soccer), Tyrell Sales (football) and Annie Lowry (soccer), Mars' Meghan Howes (cross country) and Ben Knauff (soccer), Karns City's Katie Kepple (basketball), Moniteau's Krista Smith (cross country), Freeport's Allyson Wood (swimming) and Seneca Valley's Brittany Cully (cross country).
