Butler woman attacked Wednesday in Pittsburgh
A Pittsburgh woman has been charged after being accused of “randomly” punching a Butler woman in the back of the head Wednesday, June 5, on Smithfield Street in Pittsburgh, according to a criminal complaint.
Sofia Mancing was walking on Smithfield Street toward 6th Street when an unknown Black female punched her in the back of the head, according to the complaint. After Mancing ignored the assault, the woman dragged her by her hair onto the street and punched and kicked her in the face.
Officers called to the scene located a woman four blocks away from the attack who fit the description given by Mancing and witnesses. Shurontaya D. Festa, 27, of Pittsburgh, told the officers she felt Mancing was stalking her.
Mancing was transported to UPMC Mercy for her injuries.
Festa was charged with felony aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
