U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, honored a Butler woman on her 100th birthday late last month.

Kelly visited Catherine Tilko, who celebrated her 100th birthday on May 17, at her home on May 31, presenting her with an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and a Congressional commendation.

Kelly was joined by his wife and son while Tilko was joined by members of her family for the ceremony. Kelly said he was familiar with Tilko before she reached the milestone.

“I've known Ms. Tilko for decades. She is an incredible member of the Butler community,” Kelly said. “We held this ceremony to honor this major milestone and to show Ms. Tilko just what she means not only to my family, but to the entire Butler community.”
