Joseph V. Skrobot
Joseph V. Skrobot, 94, of Butler died Sunday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born Sept. 18, 1923, in a log cabin in Butler, he was a son of the late Philip Skrobot and Anna (Prementine) Skrobot.
Joseph had worked as assistant superintendent of production for 35 years at the Pullman Standard Car Co., until 1982 when the plant closed. He was an active member of the Pullman Standard Supervisor Club.
He was a dedicated and loving family man who lived for his family. He was very talented and mechanically inclined while doing all building trades.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the 922nd Engineer Battalion.
Joseph was donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry. He donated because he was always a giving person, who wanted to make the lives of other people better.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Ziros Skrobot, whom he married May 16, 1953; two daughters, Vicki Conner of Butler and Sandi Skrobot of El Cajon, Calif.; one granddaughter, Michelle Henry Reed and her husband, Joe Reed, of Chicora; three great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Henry, R.J. Henry and Joe Reed II, all of Chicora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
SKROBOT — Visitation for Joseph V. Skrobot, who died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, will be from noon until 1 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
