The Kiwanis Club of Butler recently honored longtime member
Joseph Davidson Jr. A 51-year member of the club, he has held many positions in the club throughout his membership.A retired officer from First National Bank of Butler, he and his wife Eileen Davidson spend their winters in Florida, where they attend another Kiwanis Club's meetings.During its recent convention, the
Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars recognized several local VFW members as members of the 2004-05 team of All-State officers.
George Bonnett, a member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler, and
John Madl, a member of the VFW Post 7505 in Mars, were honored for their service as 2004-05 post commanders. They have been chosen to participate in the Pennsylvania Team of All-State Post Commanders.
Dean Snyder of VFW Post 249 and
Robert Carrara of VFW Post 7505 have been chosen as post quartermasters. He was a member of the 2004-05 Post Quartermasters All-State Team.
Damian Hambley of VFW Post 6231 in Slippery Rock was honored for his outstanding service as post commander during 2004-05, which qualified him as a member All-State Post Commanders.
Larry Pifer, also of VFW Post 6231, was selected for his role as quartermaster of the post during the past year, which qualified him as a member of the Post Quartermasters All-State team.Winners at the
