Hertweck

Dorothy R. “Sissy” (Danner) Hertweck, 92, of Renfrew, formerly of Hampton Township, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024.

The daughter of the late John Charles and Dorothy Margaret (Berry) Danner, Dorothy was born on Feb. 25, 1932, on Rosetta Street in the Garfield area of Pittsburgh. They moved to Richland Township, and she attended Washington Elementary School and then Mars High School.

Dorothy married Vincent J. Hertweck, and they moved to Allison Park. She was part of the Women’s Auxiliary of Hampton Volunteer Fire Department for many years. In later years, they moved to Saxonburg to be near their grandchildren. She was the best caregiver EVER! Children loved her and she loved them, ESPECIALLY her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! She helped many in her lifetime, especially her family.

She is survived by her son, Dale A. (Cathy) Hertweck Sr.; three grandchildren, Dale A. Hertweck Jr., Jason M. Hertweck and Adie Jo Hertweck; great-grandchildren, Jordan (Grace) Hertweck and Zachary Nguyen; one great-great-grandchild, Layla Rayne Hertweck; siblings, Audrey (Lyle) Craft, Lois (George) White, Carol (Jim) Baney, Jeanne (Ray) Russ, Jim (Bev) Danner, Joanne (Matt) Kravetz and Karen (Nick) Kujbus; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vincent, who passed away on April 2, 2000, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, John Jr., Richard and Robert Danner; and her sister, Marjory DeSpain.

HERTWECK — The family of Dorothy R. “Sissy” (Danner) Hertweck, who died Monday, June 3, 2024, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at KING FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Reid Moon officiating.

She will be laid to rest at West Union Cemetery in Gibsonia.
