Sasha Harvey, 11, daughter of Steve and Sue Slater of Butler and Dave Harvey of Saxonburg, was named Miss Pennsylvania All-American Girl during the Pennsylvania Miss All-Star United States Pageant held recently in Coraopolis.A sixth grade student at McQuistion Elementary School, she will advance to the national competition to be held during February in Las Vegas.———

<b>Westminster Presbyterian Church</b> in Sarver held its first free community Thanksgiving dinner recently.Chef Jim Monsour and volunteers from the church prepared and served about 210 meals.While at the meal, participants were entertained with music performed by Michael and Gail Cartney and Bryan Lassinger. A slide show on church mission projects was also shown.———

The <b>Butler Health System Foundation</b> raised $80,000 during its recent Crystal Ball to benefit cardiovascular services at Butler Memorial Hospital.The event was held at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Township.Attended by more than 360 guests, the event included raffles for gift items, sports packages and collectibles and an auction for professionally decorated Christmas trees.———

<b>Fran Rostas</b>, a member of the Slippery Rock Senior Center, recently took third place in a statewide senior citizen's poetry contest sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Senior Centers.Rostas' poem, "Feel Younger as you Grow Older," was displayed during the association's state conference held recently in State College.
