Medrad lays off employees at Saxonburg facility
SAXONBURG — Medrad, a medical device manufacturer, has laid off employees at its Saxonburg facility as part of a companywide workforce reduction.
Medrad, which is based in Warrendale, cut 60 to 70 employees from its total workforce of about 1,300 persons in four locations.
“Saxonburg was not especially hard hit,” Luanne Radermacher, company spokeswoman, said today.
She declined to give the number of persons whose positions ended at the Saxonburg plant, but said the layoffs were spread out evenly across facilities in Warrendale, Saxonburg, Indianola and O'Hara.
Medrad is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of high tech medical devices and is a part of Bayer Medical Care, a division of Bayer HealthCare AG.
