Gary “Gunner” Harvard Kier

Gary “Gunner” Harvard Kier, 67, of Adams Township passed away Sunday morning at the VNA Hospice facility in Butler.

Born Feb. 18, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Dunbar) Kier.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Black) Kier; five children, Kimberly (Jerome) Kello, Carrie (John) Austin, Lori Kier, Jake (Rozlyn) Kier and Cody Kier; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Josie, Jack, Lindsay, Angela, T.J., Sarah, Kayden and Baby Kier; and his great-grandchild, Kameron.

He also is survived by two brothers, Mark (Mary) and Jeff (Cathy); one sister, Katie (Andy) Maitland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant brother, James.

KIER — At the request of Gary “Gunner” Harvard Kier, who died Sunday, March 20, 2016, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. April 23 at the Mars VFW Post 7505, 331 Mars-Valencia Road, in Mars.If desired, memorial donations may be made to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Arrangements have been entrusted to the King Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Allison Park.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Gary's family at www.kingfuneralhome.com.
