Helen Sue Nebel Fogel

Helen Sue Nebel Fogel, 76, passed away July 5 at her home in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. She was surrounded by her family and died peacefully after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Sue embraced life and all that it presented to her. She loved traveling, gardening, decorating, dancing, ceramics and life itself.

Born in Butler on Aug. 11, 1935, she was the daughter of Alfred J. and Mary L. Huselton Nebel.

She is survived by four children, two sons, Bruce and his wife, Tuyet, Fogel and Glenn and his wife, Tina, Fogel, all of Birmingham, Ala.; and two daughters, Rhonda Fogel and Carole Fogel Bishop, both of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. She also is survived by seven grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Ben, Lynn and Jackie Fogel, Lauren and Andrew Fogel and Culen and Noah Bishop; her two sisters, Alice Nebel Christy and Gladys Nebel Leech, both of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ronald L. Fogel, who died May 23, 2009; and two brothers, Alfred F. Nebel and Dennis L. Nebel of Butler.

FOGEL — A funeral service for Helen Sue Nebel Fogel, who died Thursday, July 5, 2012, was July 7, 2012, at the St. Rita's Catholic Church in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.The family requests that any memorial donations be sent to the Tommy Hamm Sr. Cancer Center, 301 W. 26th St., Lynn Haven, FL 32444, or to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast, 7800 U.S. Highway 98 West, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
