Glen Dean
Glen R. Dean, 82, of Butler, formerly of Washington, Pa., passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Glen was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Washington, Pa., to the late Glen E. Dean and Julia Dean.
He graduated from Trinity High School in Washington, Pa., in 1959. He proudly joined the Army National Guard to serve our country. Glen was known for his green thumb and flower gardens, taking great pride in his hydrangeas.
He was the owner of Dean's Auto Service in Washington, Pa., for over 30 years. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed car racing, dirt racing and NASCAR. Glen spent many nights at Lernerville Speedway and Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. He and his wife, Karen, made NASCAR trips visiting many of their favorite speedways including Charlotte, Bristol and Daytona.
Surviving are his wife, Karen L. (Pollock) Dean, whom he married Sept. 14, 1996; one stepdaughter, Maureen L. Lantz; and one sister, Carolyn (Clarence) Behanna. Also surviving are three nephews; one niece; numerous cousins; and the many friends Glen made.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Tomcyk.
DEAN — Per his wishes, there will be no public visitation for Glen R. Dean, who died Saturday, April 27, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Butler County Humane Society at 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 15053; Washington County Humane Society at 1527 Route 136, Eighty Four, PA 15330; or the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.
