Two pedestrians struck by two vehicles in 30 minutes Thursday
Butler police, firefighters and EMS responded to two vehicle crashes involving pedestrians on East Jefferson Street within a half hour of one another Thursday afternoon, April 25.
The first call came in a little after 5 p.m., with one pedestrian being transported by ambulance after being hit by a car near the intersection of East Jefferson Street and Franklin Street in Butler.
Butler police and Butler firefighters responded to the scene, alongside Butler Ambulance Service, which transported the patient. Police directed traffic along East Jefferson Street while the ambulance crew evaluated the patient before leaving the scene.
Emergency responders cleared the scene a little before 5:20 p.m.
The next call came in a little before 5:40 p.m., again involving a pedestrian, this time on South Cliff Street near its intersection with East Jefferson Street. Butler firefighters blocked the street while the patient was being evaluated. However, the patient refused transport, according to Butler firefighters.
Emergency responders cleared that scene around 5:50 p.m.
