KARA STROUP(Mars), a senior on the St. Francis (Pa.) University women's softball team, was named Northeast Conference Player of the Week, as well as the Co-MVPof the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Tournament, last weekend. Stroup batted. 467 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI, three runs scored and a 1.000 slugging percentage in three games.•

DOUG ORLOSKI (Slippery Rock High), a freshman on the Westminster College men's track and field team, placed 10th in the javelin (51.64 meters) at the Shamrock Invitational at Coastal Carolina University last weekend.
