FOX CHAPEL — Amateur golfer Sean Knapp of Oakmont, a member of St. Jude Golf Club in Chicora, fired a second-round score of 69 to move into second place in the three-day Frank B. Fuhrer Jr. Invitational Monday at the Pittsburgh Field Club.

Knapp's two-day total of 136 has him one shot behind leader John Aber of Allegheny Country Club.

Butler Country Club's Rob McClellan is fifth with a 139 after carding a 69 Monday. He is one place ahead of Pine-Richland High graduate Mike Van Sickle, who had a 141.

Joe Boros of Treesdale Golf & Country Club (t-11th, 145) and John Aubrey Sr. of Aubrey's Dubbs Dred (t-19th, 148) also competed.

Round 3 is slated for today.

CALIFORNIA — Three Butler County track and field athletes have qualified for the Region 2 Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships July 8 to 11 at Stockton State College in Pomona, N.J.Ava and Clinton Bonetti of Butler, along with Jordan Geist of the South Butler School District, finished among the top four in their respective events at the USATF Three Rivers Championships, held recently at California University of Pennsylvania.Ava Bonetti, a Butler sophomore, won the shot put and discus, and was second in the javelin. Younger brother Clinton placed second in the shot put and fifth in the turbo javelin.Geist, a fifth-grader at South Butler Intermediate, won the shot put and discus. Older brother Jared, an eighth grader, was seventh in the long jump.

MALIBU, Calif. — Former NFL running back Corey Dillon pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor DUI charges stemming from his April arrest in Southern California.Dillon entered his pleas Monday in Malibu Superior Court.The former Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots running back was arrested early April 21 in Calabasas in northwestern Los Angeles County.Sheriff's Lt. Rich Erickson says two deputies were driving north on Mulholland Drive when they saw a red Camaro with paper plates and two male occupants driving slowly behind them. The deputies pulled the car over and arrested Dillon on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.On May 1, Dillon was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after an argument with his wife, but prosecutors declined to file charges in that case, citing insufficient evidence.

LOS ANGELES — Tens of thousands of jubilant Los Angeles Lakers fans lined a two-mile route Monday, many waving purple and gold flags and T-shirts that read "Back 2 Back" as they cheered the NBA champions during a parade to celebrate the team's second consecutive title.Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher, Andrew Bynum and Ron Artest waved to the throngs from a flatbed 18-wheeler as fans yelled and snapped pictures. Many waited hours for a glimpse of their heroes as they rolled past in a convoy that also included double-decker buses and fire engines.Police reported a largely well-behaved crowd. Seven people were arrested for various minor offenses, police said. Authorities did not provide a crowd estimate.
