PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith and offensive tackle Marvel Smith were added to the AFC Pro Bowl team Wednesday due to injuries to previously selected players.

Aaron Smith replaces Jets defensive end John Abraham (knee) and Marvel Smith replaces Chiefs offensive tackle Willie Roaf (ankle).

The additions give the Steelers eight players in the Feb. 13 game in Honolulu, their most since they had 10 during the 1979 season.

Previously selected were linebackers James Farrior and Joey Porter, safety Troy Polamalu, offensive linemen Alan Faneca and Jeff Hartings and wide receiver Hines Ward.

ATLANTA - Baltimore Ravens running back Jamal Lewis was sentenced to four months in prison Wednesday for using a cell phone to try to set up a cocaine deal about 4½ years ago.The penalty, worked out with prosecutors in October, should allow Lewis to return to the Ravens well before the start of the 2005 season. At most, he could miss the opening of training camp.He also will spend two months in a halfway house and perform 500 hours of community service following his prison term.

PHILADELPHIA - Terrell Owens is treating his doctor's orders the way he deals with pesky cornerbacks: shrugging them off and forging ahead.Philadelphia Eagles head trainer Rick Burkholder said Wednesday Owens started jogging and plans to continue rehabbing his injured ankle in an attempt to play in the Super Bowl.Dr. Mark Myerson, the surgeon who operated on the All-Pro receiver in December, said Tuesday he would not clear Owens to suit up against the New England Patriots on Feb. 6.The final decision on Owens' status will come down to the player, coach Andy Reid and the team's medical staff.

Slippery Rock University senior Kristen Jones was named PSAC Female Field Athlete of the Week.Jones won the long jump and placed third in the triple jump at the Slippery Rock Invitational. Her long jump of 18 feet, 1 inch is a PSAC best this season.Jones also won the 200 meters and placed second in the 55 meters at the invitational.

Butler graduate Melanie Buczko, a sophomore pole vaulter at Bucknell University, has been named ECAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week.Buczko won her fourth consecutive pole vault competition last weekend with a school and facility record vault of 12 feet, 11½ inches at the Bucknell Heptagonal.Buczko's vault was the seventh highest in the nation this indoor season.

Nick Larson, 20, of Cranberry Township, currently playing Junior A hockey for the Central Texas Marshals of the North American Hockey League, was selected to play in the 2005 NAHL All-Star Game Feb. 8 in Dallas.Larson also verbally committed to play college hockey for American International College next season.
