What a Monster
James Mowry's "Man Made Monster" was selected Best of Show at Friday night's opening of the exhibit "The Green Show" at the Art Center, 344 S. Main St.
The sculpture, made from recycled materials, captured the spirit of the show's theme and exhibited details and creativity down to the minutest details.
Other winners included:
• Keith Vensel — First place, multimedia category, for "Kokopelli Fire Dance"
• Janice Nearhoof — First place, fiber arts category, for "Rain Forest O2"
• Jeanna Sybert — Honorable mention for her 3D collage "Recycled"
• Sonja Barnes — Honorable mention for her untitled mixed media 3D collage.
• Cassandra Crocker — First place, painting category, for her watercolor "Late Summer Day."
Upcoming art exhibits at The Art Center include the "Annual Spring Show & Sale" which will open May 7, and "The Wood & Metal Art Exhibit" opening June 18. Entries are being accepted.
