Mary Pataky, 62, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Leroy and RoseMary (Geibel) Smith.

Mary dedicated her life to helping others. She was employed at Butler Meals on Wheels for 30 years, including 16 years as program director. She was passionate about serving the homebound of Butler and thought of the staff and volunteers of Meals on Wheels as family.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved nothing more than being with her family. Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and inspired everyone who knew her with her positive outlook, even as she faced the biggest challenges of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Pataky of Butler; daughter, Melanie (Cory) Tucek of Saxonburg; son, Tyler Boulanger of Butler; stepdaughters, Melissa Koetje (Michael) of Zeeland, Mich., and Shannon Pataky (Jon Slupe) of Butler; grandchildren, Elijah, Connor, Cain, Bailee, Caden, Kaden and Kolton; sisters, Audrey (Dean) Wilson of Slippery Rock, Cindy (Vince) Double of Butler and LuAnn (Gilbert) Widenhofer of Indiana, Pa.; and brothers, Gene Smith and Wayne (Patty) Smith, both of Butler.

PATAKY — Arrangements for Mary Pataky, who died Wednesday, April 10, 2024, were made privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Herman Fire Hall, 789 Herman Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Butler Meals on Wheels.
