Ruth E. Rasp, 95, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Feb. 20, 1929, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Walter K. and Gladys L. (Staples) Knauff.

Ruth owned and operated Rasp Greenhouse. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City. In her free time, she loved to bowl. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and dogs. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children, Marsha A. Jordan (Bob) of New Wilmington, Mary L. Jordan (Kirk) of Gastonia, N.C. and Douglas C. Rasp (Amber) of Renfrew; her six grandchildren, Kirk, Scott, Kate, Megan, Lindsay and Marissa; and her 13 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Chase, Eva, Helena, Luke, Jordan, Maxson, Elena, Calvin, Amorabella, Abigail, Violet and Gabriel.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin T. Rasp, who passed away on June 6, 2016; her granddaughter, Lizabeth; her sister, Mary Kay Hill; and her brother, W. Kenneth Knauff Jr.

RASP — Friends of Ruth E. Rasp, who died Thursday, April 11, 2024, will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with Pastor Brandon Johns officiating.

Ruth will be laid to rest privately at the Evans City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s honor to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, PA 16033.
