Cager Classic slated Saturday
NATRONA HEIGHTS — The 27th annual Cager Classic Basketball All-Star Games take place Saturday night at Highlands High School.
Players from Butler, Knoch, Mars and Freeport will be among the 44 participating senior boys and girls. The girls game begins at 5:30 p.m., the boys game at 7:30 p.m. Each game will be 20-minute halves.
Butler’s Jessica Chwalik, Knoch’s Adah Fuller and Naturelle Ewing, Freeport’s Brooke Kmentz, Megan Croney and Jaden Gaillot will be in the girls game. Butler’s Braylon Littlejohn, Mars’ Remi Black and Freeport’s Brady Sullivan are in the boys game.
Tickets are $6 at the door.
Stevenson shines in lacrosse win
BETHANY, W.Va. — Butler graduate Tori Stevenson scored three goals Thursday night in Grove City College’s 18-3 women’s lacrosse victory at Bethany.
Stevenson also caused three turnovers and had four ground balls in the win.
Lernerville forced to postpone event
BUFFALO TWP — Early morning rain and snow on Friday forced Lernerville Speedway to cancel its Test & Tune event that day, along with postponing the Steel City Stampede ReBoot slated for Saturday.
The Steel City Stampede ReBoot is held over from October and will include five feature events. No make up date has been announced.
Plank, Phillips get Academic All-District
TRAFFORD — Portersville Christian graduate Emma Plank and Knoch graduate Michael Phillips have been named Academic All-District in swimming.
Plank, a junior at Grove City College, made first team and is one of eight Presidents’ Athletic Conference swimmers under consideration for College Sports Communicators Academic Al-America. Phillips, a junior at Westminster, made second team.
