Joseph A. Burr Jr., 92, of Mars, passed away on Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2024, at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in New Castle on Aug. 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Coper Burr.

Joe had worked in the maintenance department at MSA in Callery for many years.

He was a member of LifePointe Alliance Church and had been active in the Butler County Sheriff's Posse.

He had also been a Boy Scout assistant leader for Troop 400 in Adams Township.

Surviving are two sons, Earl Burr (Betty) and Raymond Burr, both of Mars; his grandchildren, Dylan, Chelsie, Michelle, Kevin, Josh and Abby; his great-granddaughter, Xochi; and a sister, Helen Howell of Sarver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. Rettinger Burr, whom he married on June 12, 1955, and who died on May 11, 2017; and by a brother, Howard Burr.

BURR — Friends of Joseph A. Burr Jr., who died Sunday, March 31, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, PA 16046. Services will follow at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Cope officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.

Memorials may be made to the LifePointe Alliance Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
