Marjorie Fosnaught Pirie

Marjorie M. (Myers) Fosnaught Pirie, 89, of Morro Bay, Calif., passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at Sierra Vista Hospital, San Luis Obispo, Calif.

She was born May 10, 1934, in Zelienople, Pa., to LaVon Myers and Zella (Wright) Myers.

She had been employed as a bookkeeper and office worker. She was a lifelong voracious reader, enjoying mysteries and World War II fiction and nonfiction.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynda Halin of Butler, Pa. and Barbara (Frank) Hiebert of Paso Robles, Calif.; son, James Fosnaught of Morro Bay, Calif.; grandchildren, Jesse Barto (Shawna) of Livermore, Calif., Joshua Halin (Jodie) of Slippery Rock, Pa. and Kathryn Partridge (Asim Mian) of Manteca, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jayden and Aaliyah Mian; sister, Sue Ann Alterete of Portland, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Fosnaught in 1994 and William Pirie in 1999; her sister, Marcella Myers Sturgeon; and beloved aunts.

A celebration of life for Marjorie will occur at a later date.
