BUTLER TWP — Faith Lutheran Church, 241 Freeport Road, has welcomed a new pastor.
The Rev. Brian Westgate was in-stalled June 12 by the Rev. Jamison Hardy of McMurray, who also preached. Assisting was Pastor Michael Scheer of Slippery Rock as well as other area Missouri Synod pastors.
Westgate, 29, graduated May 20 from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind., and was ordained June 5 at Zion Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Detroit. He is originally from Blissfield, Mich.
CENTER TWP — The Colosse Baptist Youth Choir will perform “The Prodigal” at 7 p.m. July 17 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 771 Mercer Road.The church also will host a block party for all ages from 7 to 8 p.m. July 21. CRANBERRY TWP — Women are invited to Magnificat Pittsburgh for a prayer breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 20 at the Sheraton Four Points. The speaker is Mary Healy, who teaches scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit.Registration is required by Aug. 12 for the $18 event. LYNDORA — Crossroad Community Church will host “A Night to Honor Israel” from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave. The event is a tribute to the nation of Israel and the Jewish people of the world.
